Mr Donnachie is a senior Orthopaedic Consultant at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral which is one of the busiest orthopaedic reconstructive lower limb units in England . He Originally trained at the University of Liverpool before completing Fellowships at Wrightington Hospital, the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and overseas in Melbourne, Australia at the Austin and Repatriation Hospital and Harbor View Trauma Center in Seattle U.S.A. He qualified from Liverpool University Medical School in 1988 and attained the FRCS (Orth) qualification in 1997.

Mr Donnachie has extensive experience in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty (replacement), knee arthroscopy, arthroscopic sports surgery and ligament reconstruction of the knee. He is a lead surgeon in the development of the Zimmer Patient Specific Instrumentation (PSI) Total Knee Replacement System. He also has a number of ongoing audit/outcome studies in progress with regards both primary and revision arthroplasty procedures.
